The Enterprise Research Centre in NUI Galway focuses on the design, development and analysis of new processes and systems. Our research projects model real world dynamic systems as well as analytical theories and frameworks to gain a deep insight into how organizations effectively manage their innovative efforts. Therefore, we work closely with industry to identify and prioritize requirements, co-develop solutions and implement and validate new models and systems.

A systems ethos which includes people, process and technology related issues are employed in the research. The research area is multidisciplinary in nature and spans functions such as engineering, technology and business.
The research team comprises 8 Ph.D. researchers and 1 post-doctoral fellow who are conducting applied research. All projects centre on the development of tangible outputs such as architectures, models and information management systems. To date we have secured €1.8 million in research funding.

IDEC

IDEC is a training consulting company located in Piraeus, Greece. Its activities consist of training, management consulting, quality assurance, evaluation and development of ICT solutions for both private and public sector. Clients of IDEC are both SMEs and the bigger Greek companies of a wide variety of sectors. It co-operates with more than 600 institutes all through Europe and with about 300 experts on specific fields.

IDEC has consulting experience in developing quality management systems in Greek training centres and has been accredited as a lifelong learning centre. It organizes in-service training courses for teachers and trainers, study visits and informal learning activities for students in initial education and training and provides training courses and work placements for students in vocational training and people in labor market. IDEC’s training courses cover a wide range of topics including management, pedagogy, ECVET and EQF, ICT, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, soft skills etc.

Cecot is an Entrepreneur's Association whose role is to represent the member guilds and associations interests and extend its influence to the public sector and social institutions. It offers directly or indirectly, the most advanced services and professional advice for enhancing the associate companies’ competitiveness. Cecot’s main goal is to promote activities, initiatives or original ideas that contribute to improve business performance and economic growth.

Through its training area, Cecot offers more than 1.000 courses and seminars yearly, having more than 6.500 trainees and more than hours 30.000 of training. Cecot Innovation Foundation (FCI) is the branch of CECOT that offers services to SME in the areas of: Business transfer, entrepreneurship advice, international projects and BANC network .FCI leads Reempresa, a business transfer market in Catalonia addressed to entrepreneurs who want to transfer their activity and to entrepreneurs who want to start a business. FCI also offers advice to entrepreneurs who want to create a new company and self-employers.

FCI is the founder of the Catalan Business Angels Network, a private institution which aim is to put in touch private investors with entrepreneurs looking for funds.

Association of SA and LTD companies

The Association of SA and LTD companies is a powerful employers’ association with more than 2000 members from all over Greece. It has been established in 1922 and was a co-founder of the University of Piraeus. It has established the International Economic Relations Institute, the Foundation of Studies and Business Development and the Hellenic Mediation and Arbitration Centre.

The general aim of the Association is to safeguard and promote the interests of its members in legal, economic and social terms, in the framework of the economic development of the country. In particular some of the specific objectives of the Association are:

  • The study, promotion and support of issues of interest and concern of its members whose resolution contributes to the development of themselves and the Greek economy.
  • The overall representation of the Members (before the courts, public authorities and various collective bodies) in order to safeguard common interests.
  • The training of executives and other employees of its members and the organization of conferences, seminars, etc.
  • The implementation of government and community development schemes and other programs in general.
  • The Association of SA and LTD companies is located in the center of Athens and has branches in Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli and Heraklion. The headquarters in Athens consist of a conference room for 100 persons, 2 meeting rooms and work stations for 20 persons.

SAE EPE currently employs a staff of 8 persons, 1 part-time assistant and about 15 interns per semester.
